What we collect

takeapick.com is a free web tool for casual decision making, published by Keyro Labs. It operates entirely within your web browser. You do not need to create an account, register an email address, or install any software to use it.

When you use the tool, the text you enter into the question field or option rows remains on your device. The pick happens on your device. Your questions, list items, and results are never sent to our servers. Session pick history sits in temporary browser memory and clears when you close the tab.

If you use the link-sharing feature, the tool encodes your options and the drawn outcome directly into the address URL. We do not operate a database or server that stores shared picks. Anyone who opens the shared link can see the options and the result contained in that address. Malformed or invalid share links are ignored silently and load the tool in its default state.

The site is designed for a general adult audience. We do not collect age information. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13.

We do not currently display advertising on takeapick.com. Ad slots are built in but switched off. When advertising is enabled later, this privacy policy will be updated in the same change. Any future advertising will sit outside the picker, never near the buttons.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. Google Analytics runs only after you give affirmative agreement on our consent sheet.

When you first arrive on the site, Google does not start measuring. If you choose No, thanks or dismiss the consent sheet, it stays that way for the visit.

If you choose Yes, I agree, Google Analytics may measure:

  • Pages you view on the site.
  • Which controls you use.
  • Approximate geographic location derived by Google from your IP address.
  • Technical details about your browser, operating system, and device type.

Event measurements never include the text of your options, the words in your question, or any details that could reconstruct your list. We do not send user-provided personal data to Google. We have turned off Google's extra ad-tracking add-ons.

After consent, Google may use cookies, saved settings in your browser, tiny tracking images, and your IP address to collect measurement data. You can review how Google handles information gathered from partner websites by visiting this link:

On your device

takeapick.com sets no cookies of its own.

We save a few settings in your browser:

  • Colour scheme, after you choose Light or Dark. Until then the page follows your system.
  • Your analytics choice, after you tap Yes, I agree or No, thanks. Closing the sheet denies measurement for that visit without saving a choice.
  • Spin length, after you choose Short, Normal, or Long. Until then it stays on Long.
  • Sound on or off, and the volume, after you use the sound control. Until then sound stays off.
  • Your list, only if you agree to analytics and tick Remember my list on this device. Off by default. Only a short list will fit, a few hundred options.
  • A copy of the pages and files needed to run the picker, so it still works if the connection drops. The copy does not include your questions or list items. Clearing site data for takeapick.com removes it.

Clear site data for takeapick.com in your browser to remove all of this, including the cached pages. Unticking Remember my list deletes the saved list immediately.

Your choices

You can change or revoke your analytics consent at any time using the control below. Revoking consent stops further Google Analytics measurement for your session. Granting consent lets Google start measuring.

Because we do not use accounts or store personal data on our servers, there are no user accounts, personal profiles, or transaction logs to export or delete. You manage all data held on your computer or phone directly through your browser settings or interface toggles.
